Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon for George W. Young of Gosnell, Ark., who died at the Blytheville Hospital Friday afternoon. The services were held at the Baptist church by the Rev. J.W. Cunningham, pastor of the Steele Baptist Church, and interment was in the Mr. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Young became critically ill while at work on his farm and was rushed to the Blytheville Hospital, where an emergency operation was performed, but his condition remained critical and he died within a short time. He had lived at Gosnell for the past two years. Before then he had lived around Cooter.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lela Young; two sons, Joe Young of Gosnell and Richard Young of Cooter; four granddaughters, Mrs. Ovelia Chandler of Blytheville, Mrs. Virginia Moore of No. 9, Mrs. Illa Mae Wingfield of Steele and Maxine Young of Gosnell. He also has several brothers and sisters.

COOTER, Mo.-Funeral services were held here Sunday for George W. Young of Gosnel, Ark., who died Friday afternoon at the Blytheville, Ark. Hospital, after having been stricken suddenly ill three days before. The services were held at the Baptist Church by the Rev. T.C. Thorpe, pastor, with burial in Mt. Zion cemetery. He was 55.
In apparent good health Mr. Young became critically ill Tuesday, and was removed to the hospital where an emergency operation was performed.
Born at Cooter, he had lived there all his life until two years ago when he moved to the Gosnel, Ark. community where he was farming.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lela Young; two sons, Joe Young of Gosnel, and Richrd Young of Cooter; and four daughters Mrs. Ira Mae Wingfield of Cooter, Mrs. Virginia Moore of Number Nine, Mrs. Ophelia Chandler of Blytheville, and Miss Maxine Young of Cooter. Also surviving is one brother, Henry Young of Blytheville.
