Mrs. Ruth M. Young, 56, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Steele, died March 23 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City. Born Feb. 4, 1930 in Steele, she was the daughter of Randolph and Cren Johnson Williamson. She had lived in Granite City for the past 18 years.
She is survived by one son, Lennis Young; Three sisters, Mrs. Ocie Dillard of Steele and Sarah and Peggy Williamson, both of Hialeah, Fla.; Two brothers, John Williamson of Holland and James Williamson of Springville, Tenn.She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Young.
Services were March 26 at 1 p.m. at John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. James Burnette officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Clark, Glen Flood, Leroy Wheatley, Jim Grissom, David Clark and Don Wheatley.
