Spouse: Lina McCullough
Elbert Cannon, 75, Route 3, Steele, died Friday, August 8, in Pemiscot Memorial Hospital at Hayti. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Bootheel area the past 20 years.
Mr. Cannon leaves his widow, Clara Cannon of the home: two sons; James Cannon and Winford Cannon, both of Steele; five daughters: Charlene Hicks, Finley, Tn., Patsy McCaig, Wauchula, Fla., Hester Brown, Portageville, Betty Elliott and Bertha Lucas, both of Steele; 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 10, at 2 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. David Hart officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge of arrangements.
