Mable Virginia Bray, 86, of St. Peters, formerly of Steele, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Barnes Hospital in St. Peters.
Born August 21, 1919 in Holland, she was the daughter of the late Henry Jackson and Eve Lena Tuberville. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nona Hicks, Rona Scott and Masle Kinnison.
She was united in marriage to James Ross Bray on September 5, 1936 in Caruthersville. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1993.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Samford Church of Christ near Steele.
Mrs. Bray leaves two daughters: June King and her husband, Ralph, and Jean Fullerton and her husband, Roy, both of St. Louis; two sons: Dewayne Bray of St. Louis and Jerry Bray and his wife, Barbara, of Bowling Green, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bray were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Mr. Joe Spangler officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers were David Daniels, Stuart Worrell, Alan Southern, Bob Ketchum, Howard Henry and Jason Hampton.

James Ross Bray, 76, of Holland, died February 23, 1993 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born October 10, 1916 in Pontotoc, Miss., he was the son of George W. and Dollie Stewart Bray. He was a retired Datsun mechanic and a member of Samford Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mable Jackson Bray of Holland; two sons, Jerry Bray of Bowling Green, Ky., and Dwayne Bray of Barnhart, Mo.; two daughters, June King of St. Louis and Jean Fullerton of Cedar Hill, Mo.; a brother, Winetha Bray of Grafton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were February 26, at 2 p.m. at Samford Church of Christ, Barry Sellers officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Scott Bray, William Biggs, David Daniel, Stuart Worrell, John Smith and Hugh Samford.
