Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 15, 1976 at the Samford Church of Christ for Mrs. Eva Lena Jackson. Jim Franks of Steele conducted the service.
Mrs. Jackson was a resident of the Samford community for most of her life and was the daughter of the late W.R. and Jane Hicks Tuberville. She was 83 years of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nona Hicks of Ashley, Illinois, Mrs. Mabel Bray of St. Louis and Mrs. Ronna Scott and Mrs. Mazle Vaughn of Rives; two brothers, Troy Tuberville of Holland, and W.R. Tuberville, of Rives; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Channell and Mrs. Eliza Michie of Steele; also 28 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchilden.
Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Pete Dawson, Gene Gillette, Greg Gillette, Larry Payne, Ralph Martin, and Sonny Kinnison.
