Carl S. Schell, 67, Joplin route 7, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Schell was born Oct. 12, 1923, at Pittsburg, Kan. He lived in Joplin before moving to Lowell, Ark. He returned to Joplin in 1976. He owned Carl Schell Trucking Co. in Joplin. He was a Methodist. He was a member of Joplin Elks Lodge No. 501, the Masonic Lodge of Washburn, the Joplin Scottish Rite and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of Wordl War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Schell; a son, Carl Schell, Jr., Joplin; four daughters, Coeta Stephens, Cassville, Karla Lakey, Rogers, Ark., and Sandy Phillips and Frankie Hendrix, both of Washburn; a brother , Billy Wayne Schell, Cassville; a sister, Amy Lou Prime ,Muskogee, Okla.; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodward Mortuary. The Rev. Tom Casady will officiate. Masonic rites will be conducted by members of the Washburn Masonic Lodge.
Burial will be in Roller Cemetery, west of Washburn. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of Joplin Post 13, American Legion .
Pallbearers will be Gary Schell, Richard Decker, Rocky Schell, Jason Prime, Jeremy Prime and Mark Prime.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home.

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- Dorothy J. Schell, age 76, of Carl Junction, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following three months of ill health.
Dorothy was born Oct. 19, 1930, in Great Bend, Kan. She had lived eight years in Carl Junction and in the Joplin area since 1976. She and her husband were co-owners of M&S Trucking Co. in Duenweg, Mo.
Dorothy was married to Carl Schell Feb. 8, 1966, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1991.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Philip Prime officiating. Burial will be in Roller Cemetery near Powell , Mo. Pallbearers will be Christopher Decker, Michael Davis, Mark Prime, Philip Prime, Jeremy Prime and Jason Prime. Visitation will be from 1 p.m . until the service Saturday at the chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary, of Joplin .
