Annie Pearl Wood, 84, a resident of River Oaks Care Center, died Thursday, February 5, 1998.
She was born June 17, 1913 at Lynnville, Kent., a daughter of the late Ed and Florence Meadows Rhodes.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
On May 18, 1935 she was united in marriage with Jimmy Wood who prceded her in death.
Two sisters also preceded her in death: Gladys Baker and Nellie Gray.
Mrs. Wood leaves two nieces: Patsy Crosskno of Blytheville, Ark. and Mildred Doyle of St. Louis, Mo.; and One brother in law, Jim Baker of Steele.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wood were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 1998 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were: Clarence Crosskno, Kenneth Crosskno, Joe Turner, Paul Yarbrough, Lloyd Wilson and Bob Baker.

Friday, June 6, 1958:
Funeral services were held at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter last Thursday afternoon for James E. (Jimmy) Wood, who died May 27, 1958. The pastor, Rev. W.E. Hall, officiated with interment at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Wood, 43, died at his home at Sheffield, Ala., after several years illness. He formerly lived at Steele where he was a plumber.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Rhodes Wood, of Sheffield, one sister, Mrs. Barney Robinson, Savannah, Tenn., and two brothers, Sylvian Wood, Naylor, Mo., and George Ingram, of Blytheville.
German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge.
