Mrs. Mart Jeffreys, age 38 years, and three children, Rufus Edward, age 8, Carrie Joan, age 13 days and Dorla Deane, age 3 years, of the Number 8 vicinity, have died within the past few days from measles and pneumonia. The first to succumb was Dorladean on January 13, 1933, the mother on January 18, while funeral services were being conducted at the cemetery for her, the little 8 year old son, Rufus Edward, died and two days later, the infant daughter, Carrie Joan died. The remains were laid to rest in the Number 8 Cemetery and short funeral services for each one was conducted by Rev. J.B. Copeland.
The surviving members of the family are the husband and father, Mart Jeffreys, four daughters and sisters: Eula Mae, Florence, Geraldine and Martha, one son and brother, William. Mrs. Jeffreys is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Miranda Lewis Jeffreys, of Hamilton, Ala.; three brothers, Clovis, Carl and Rufus Lewis, of Number 8; three sisters, Mrs. Doshie Clifton, Mrs. Ethel Stanford, of Number 8 and Mrs. Lula Belk, of Hamilton, Ala.
Mr. Jeffreys and other members of the family have also been critically ill from the same malady, but are at this time slowly recovering.

Funeral services for Martin Albert Jeffreys, 77, of Bakersfield, Calif. were held Monday, January 30, 1967 at the German Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.
He was born on February 13, 1889 and died January 24, 1967. Burial was at Number Eight Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge.
He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Eula Hathaway, Vinton, Calif.; Mrs. Martha Erickson, Reno, Nev.; Violet Landaburu, Reno, Nev.; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Stringer, Detroit, Ala.; three brothers, O.L. Jeffreys, Detroit, Ala.; Dan Jeffreys, Hamilton, Ala.; and Will Jeffreys, Hamilton, Ala.; and eight grandchildren.
