Funeral services for Homer Clarence Conkle, 91, of Brashear will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Brashear Community Bible Church. The Rev. David Alspach, pastor of the church will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Brashear cemetery.
The body is at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Brashear where it will remain until noon Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.
Mr. Conkle died Monday morning at 10:30 in a hospital in Fulton. Before entering the Fulton hospital he had been a resident of the LaBelle Manor.
Born April 10, 1885 in Adair county, he was the son of George Jeff and Rosa Willis Conkle. On December 11, 1919 at Brashear he married Elsie Louise McAdams who preceded him in death on March 19, 1973. Also preceding him in death were one sister, Emma Coy and one brother, Pearl C. Conkle.
Surviving are one son, Clarence Leonard Conkle of Peoria, Ill.; three granddaughters, Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Wilber of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Lonnie C. (Linda) Lauer of Bridgeton, Maine and Mrs. William (Ruby) Taylor of East Peoria, Illinois; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Mr. Conkle was a life long resident of the Hurdland-Brashear communities where he was engaged in farming before his retirement.
He was a member of the Brashear Community Bible Church.
Bearers will be Earl Ross, Joe Shelton, Richard Wilber, William Taylor, Clarence Sleeth and Dr. Lonnie Lauer.
