Lloyd Wayne Kelley, 80 of Gibbs, MO passed away Saturday (May 8, 2010) at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, MO. Lloyd was born June 1, 1929 in Adair County, Missouri, the son of Orval F. and Mary Ethel (Watson) Kelley. He is survived by one sister, Dr. Mary Bruns and husband Dr. Edward Bruns of Rolla, MO; three nieces, Dr. Cynthia Bruns and husband Dr. Phil Traino, Dr. Catherine Gaffney and husband Dr. Frank Gaffney and Dr. Cristin Bruns and husband Dr. Matt Meyer all of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence Kelley. Lloyd was reared in Adair County where he attended school graduating from the Brashear High School in the Class of 1947. While in High School Lloyd played Basketball. He farmed all of his life in the Gibbs community. Due to his failing health in September of 2007 he moved to Rolla to be near his sister and entered an assisted living facility. He enjoyed watching basketball and baseball games and was a fisherman and hunter. He had a outgoing nature and enjoyed visiting and telling tales with family, friends and many other people that he met. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (May 15, 2010) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Special music will be provided by his Nieces and their spouses. Instrumental music will be provided by Dianthe Cable. Interment will be in the Gibbs Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Moyer, Randy Watson, Russell Watson, James Stribling, Bob Lewis and Dennis Garlock. The family will received friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233 Memorials are suggested to the Gibbs Union Cemetery or the John D. Black Scholarship at Truman University Foundation.
