Rhoda Lee Day
Mrs. Rhoda Lee Day, a resident of Matthews, Rt. 1, age 86 years, 4 months, 23 days, born January 27, 1885 in Mississippi County, passed away Saturday, June 19, 1771 at 11:30 p.m. in the Host House, Charleston.

On April 16, 1901 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Henry Day who preceded her in death, August 17, 1436. Survivors are two cLughters: Mrs. WIlllarn Simpkins of Hammond, Indiana and Mrs. Harley Pritchett of Matthews; four sons, Henry Day, James Day, and Calvin Day, all of Matthews and Charles Day of Hammond. Indiana; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. a host of other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Day was the daughter of the late Dunklin and Susan Louise Zilafro Cooper. Other relatives preceded in death, two sons, two sisters, and two brothers. Mrs. Day had resided In New Madrid County and near MAWR,. most of her life. She was a member of the Church of God of East Prairie.

The body lay in state at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 22, 1771 at 2:00 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel with Rev. J. L. Hatchel officiating. Interment followed in the Dogwood Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.

John Henry Day was born Septem-ber 1st 1870 died August 18th, 1936 at the age of 64 years, 11 months, 18 days. The deceased leaves besides his wife, six children, Mrs. Eugene Pritchett, Ethel, Henry, Charlie, Calvin and James Day. Five grand-children and a sister in Arlington, KY.
