ANDERSON, Mo. — Jimmie C. "Jim" Ellis, 61, of Anderson died Jan. 14, 2007, at Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Mo. He was born Dec. 3, 1945, at Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella, Mo., to Earl and Kate Daugherty Ellis.

He grew up in Pineville, Mo., and was a 1963 graduate of Pineville High School. He married Nancy Townsend on Aug. 4, 1973. He worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for more than 36 years. He was formerly of Seneca, Mo., and El Dorado Springs, Mo. He retired out of Neosho as district supervisor in 2001. He retired again in 2006 from the McDonald County Road District. He was a member of Swars Prairie Baptist Church in Seneca. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Ellis of the home; two daughters, Donna Marie Ellis McGrew and husband Ray and Ila Jean Ellis Potts and husband Robert, all of Cleveland, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jessica and Dustin Potts and Ray "Deuce" McGrew; one sister, Louine Ellis Gardner of Pineville; two brothers, Bobbie Joe Ellis of Joplin and Earl Eugene "Tucker" Ellis of Pineville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson with the Rev. Tom Ellis officiating.

Burial will follow in Pineville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Whited, Douglas Davis, Joe Ellis, Steve Cosgrove, Scott Griffith and Michael Griffith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Potts, Larry Davis, Deuce McGrew and all members of the McDonald County road crew.
