Last Sunday evening about six o'clock Troy Lester of Holland, Mo., was killed almost instantly when he was struck by a car driven by Robert Williams of this city.

Young Lester, his brother and his father had been to Memphis to see their mother, who is in a hospital undergoing treatment and when they were nearly to Yarbro they had a flat tire which young Lester had repaired and while he was letting the car down with the jack he was hit. Young Lester was standing so that Mr. Williams could not see the tail light and besides there was at the time a terrible rain storm as well as another car approaching and Mr. Williams could not see the other car. The ambulance was called from Blytheville and carried the young man to the hospital but he died just as the hospital was reached.

Mr. Williams was detained until the coroner had an inquest at which time the accident was declared unavoidable.

The father of the deceased declared the accident unavoidable and Mr. Williams was liberated at once.

Mr. Williams has been suffering from the shock and is on the verge of a nervous collapse.
