Iva Viola Farris, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, August 16, 2002, in Poplar Bluff.
Born Tuesday, June 1, 1909 in Patrick, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Brant Deaton and Cynthia Stufflebean Deaton. She was also preceded in death by two sons: John D. Farris and Holly Farris; and one daughter, Susie Tucker.
She was a homemaker.
Iva was united in marriage to Wallace Farris on August 10, 1926 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death in December of 1964.
Mrs. Farris leaves two sons: Richard Farris of Ellsinore, Mo., and Wallace Lee Farris of Imperial, Mo.; Five daughters: Marie Brown of Granite City, Ill., Juanita Kent of Wellsville, Mo., Sylvia Meese of Clarkton, Mo., Suedell Talley of Poplar Bluff, and Kathy Walker of Ellsinore; One Step-brother, Garland Deaton of Steele, Mo.; Thirty-two grandchildren; and Several great-grandchildren; and Six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Farris were held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2002, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Jeremy Damesworth officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Terry Farris, Kevin Lashley, Michael Lawrence, Dean Brown, Raymond Kent Jr., and Brian Webb.
