Minnie Mercer, 96, died January 19, 1999, at the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born on July 8, 1902, in Lindon, Tenn., the daughter of the late Mike and Rosa Walker Jones.
She was a homemaker. Her religious belief was Pentecostal Church of God.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Mercer March 19, 1922, in Flatwoods, Tenn. Mr. Mercer, two sons, Hoover and T.J.; and a daughter, Mary McCullough, preceded her in death.
Survivors include the following; a daughter, Ruby Hatton of Naylor; two sisters, Pearl Horner of Dyer, Tenn., and Mandy Goblet of Jackson, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday, January 22, 1999, at 1 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, with Rev. Kenny Durham officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery of Steele. Pall Bearers were her grandsons.
