Services for Archie Griggs, 66, of Steele, who died July 26,1977 at the Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, were held July 28th at 4 p.m. at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Fred Pritchett officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 24, 1910 in Steele. He was a veteran of World War Two.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Malverda Griggs of the home; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Davis of Steele; five brothers, Ocie, Elmer, and Ralph Griggs, all of Steele, Jess Griggs of Southaven, Mich., and Thomas Griggs of California.
Pallbearers were J. B. Thompson, James Thompson, Michael Griggs, Roy Burnett, Dwight Davis, and Floyd Griggs.
