Audrey Lucille Nichols Aldridge, 73, daughter of George and Opal Beasley Nichols, was born Sept. 20, 1934, in Texas County. She died April 18, 2008.
She grew up in the Pine Creek area and attended Willow Springs Schools.
She married Oral Aldridge April 5, 1952. They had seven children.
Mrs. Aldridge enjoyed going to church, studying the Bible, reading and many types of handiwork. She crocheted and did pieces of needlepoint, which she gave to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Elmer Nichols; stepfather, Harvey Adkins; one son, Danny Joe; three sisters, Ocie, Virginia and Norma; and a grandson.
Surviving are her children, Rosemary Mooney and Dee Aldridge of Elk Creek, Jeanie McAlister of Piedmont and Wayne Aldridge, Annette Hartman and Brian Aldridge of Houston; two sisters, Georgia Lynch of Mountain Grove and Phyllis Adkins of Mansfield; two brothers, Donald Adkins of Prineville, Ore., and Vaughn Nichols of Golden City; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Oral Joseph Aldridge, 69, son of Joe and Lestle Chambers Aldridge, was born April 22,1926, at Tyrone. He died Nov. 5, 1995, at Willow Care Nursing Home at Willow Springs. He married Audrey Nichols April 5, 1952. They had seven children and lived in the Tyrone area. Mr. Aldridge joined the Marine Corps in May of 1952 and became a three-star honor Marine in the Korean War. After his discharge from the military in 1954, he worked in the timber and was a mechanic. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Bernice; and one grandson. Surviving are his wife, Audrey of the home at Tyrone; three sons, Danny and Dee of Elk Creek and Wayne of Piedmont; four daughters, Rosemary Mooney of Eminence, Jeannie McAllister of Piedmont, Patty Aldridge of Elk Creek and Annette Hartman of Houston; three sisters, Maxine Newberry of Rolla, Vernetta Swartz of Springfield and Marie Grogan of Yukon; three brothers, Dean and Delmar Aldridge of Elk Creek and Bob Aldridge of Springfield; and eight grandchildren. Services were Nov. 7 at the Evans Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone Cemetery.
