James Scott Hamilton, 73, son of Eckle and Faye Odle Hamilton, was born March 7, 1928, at Solo. He died May 29, 2001, at Kabul Nursing Home following an illness of several months.
He attended school at Simmons and spent most of his life in this area.
He lived in Marshalltown, Iowa, for several years working on a farm along with other work.
After moving back to the Cabool area, he spent time fishing with his buddies in the Udall area. He also enjoyed hunting.
Mr. Hamilton was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. and Lloyd.
Surviving are his wife, Janet, of the home at Cabool; two sons, James Lee of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Terry Vernon of Rolla; three daughters, Cheryl Vernon of Taneyville, Kimberley of Sparta and Daisy Holmes of Marshalltown, Iowa; two brothers, Jerry of Cabool and Steve of Denver, Colo., nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were June 1 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Bob J. White officiating. Burial following cremation will be in the Cabool Cemetery.
