Gearld (Jerry) Dean Hamilton son of Eckle and Faye(Odle) Hamilton, was born on April 12, 1930 in Simmons, Missouri and departed this life at his home in Cabool, Missouri on November 29, 2012 at the age of 82 years, seven months and 17days.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Guinn on September 13, 1953 and to this union four children were born.
He joined the US Navy in 1947 and was in the Korean War. After leaving the Navy, he did many different jobs. He was disabled in 1968, when he took up fishing, camping and gardening full time.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his parents; 4 brothers, Robert (Buck), Lloyd (Short), James(Jim), and Steve; one niece and one nephew.
He is survived by his four children, Martin and Debbie of Plato, Missouri, Gerald of Cabool, Missouri, Jeff and Melanie of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Susan of Cabool, Missouri; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Dorothy Marie Hamilton of Cabool, MO, daughter of Edwin and Myrtle (Brann) Guinn, was born on April 7, 1932 in Ottawa, Kansas and departed this life at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO on November 14, 2012 at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 7 days.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Hamilton on September 13, 1953 and to this union four children were born. Since her retirement from Brown Shoe, she enjoyed fishing and camping with friends and family and playing cards at the Cabool Senior Center.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald; one sister, Margaret and a nephew, Ronnie. She is survived by her husband, Jerry of the home; three sons, Martin and wife, Debbie of Plato, MO, Gerald of Cabool, MO and Jeff and wife, Melanie of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Susan of Cabool, MO; one niece, Pat Rose of Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
