Cleta Lillian (Jones) Matthews, age 94, of Republic, Missouri, quietly left this life to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in Sonshine Manor, Republic. She was born on May 14, 1921, in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of John Clifford and Exie (Turner) Hopkins.
Lillian was a school teacher in the Howell County Missouri area. She married Harold Jones on November 14, 1941, and they lived all their married life in the Pomona, Missouri area, where Lillian was active in the Pomona Christian Church, and the Pomona Community. Harold passed away on November 26, 1984. Later in life, Lillian married Ed Matthews on February 22, 1997, and Ed passed away on February 16, 2005. Surviving Lillian a host of loving family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Howell County Memorial Cemetery, Pomona, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. [meadorsfuneralhome.com]
