Services for Lester Bell Vaughn of Hornersville, formerly of Steele, were held Sunday afternoon at the Hornersville Baptist Church with the Rev. George Sisler officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with Emerson and Sons Funeral Home of Hornersville in charge. Military rites were conducted by a team from Fort Leonard Wood.
The son of Willie Vaughn and the late Etta Lillian Ethridge Vaughn, he was born November 23, 1919 in Obion County, Tenn. and died November 27 at the age of 51. He served for eight years as police judge of Steele and also owned and operated a furniture store while living there.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Lee Vaughn of Nashville, Tenn. four sons, Charles and Tony Vaughn of Nashville, Dennis Vaughn of Columbia, Tenn. and Edward Vaughn of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Brodie and Mrs. Ann Barger of Cooter; his father Willie Vaughn of Caruthersville; two brothers, Tommy and Carl Vaughn of St. Louis; four sisters, Mrs. Lessie Collins of Columbia, Tenn., Mrs. Esther Rogers and Mrs. Mary Willie Jones of Caruthersville and Mrs. Betty Stroud of Sullivan and three grandchildren.
