Mr. William (Buddy) Evert Overturf, 72, of Steele, Mo., died of natural causes at his home Sunday, March 12, 1995.
Born Friday, October 27, 1922, at Steele, he was a son of the late Evert Ellsworth (Nig) Overturf and Mary Mable Michie Overturf.
One brother, two sisters, and two sons also preceded him in death.
A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Overturf was a retired construction worker.
Mr. Overturf leaves his wife, Mandy Evans, of Steele; Four sons: Shannon W. Overturf of Caruthersville, Mo., Danny Gene Overturf of Caledonia, Ill., Michael Lynn Evans of Blytheville, Ark., and Evert Keith Evans of Steele; A daughter, Johnnie Kaye Edwards, of Blytheville; Eight grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; Two daughters-in-law: Barbara Overturf of Caruthersville and Betty Evans of Blytheville; A son-in-law, Robert Edwards, of Blytheville; Five sisters: Martha Lavonia Flood, Marie Dennis, and Agnes Richardson, all of Steele, Benita Johnson of Doniphan, Mo., and Stellveta Bradford of Steele; and Three brothers: Henry (Boob) Overturf of Steele, Carroll Overturf of Pottsville, Ark., and Fred Overturf of Bowling Green, Ky.
Funeral services for Mr. Overturf were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at Bradshaw Chapel in Steele with Rev. Raymond Baker and Rev. Jerry Baker officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele was in charge.
