Steele, Mo. - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church here for Andrew J. Overturf, retired druggest, who died Saturday at the age of 85.
He had lived in Steele for 60 years and was one of the first settlers in the community. He suffered a stroke of paralysis several years ago, forcing his retirement from active business. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Rayburn of Malden and A.J. Jr., with the U.S. Air Forces; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Steele of Malden and Mrs. Leonard Cassidy of Benton Harbor, Mich., also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive.
Services were conducted by the pastor, the Reverend Marvin E. Niblack. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with the German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral service was held January 21 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele for Mrs. Augusta Mae Overturf. The Rev. Claude Stone, Jr., officiated.
Mrs. Overturf was born March 23, 1887, in Henderson County, Tenn., and came to Steele in 1898. She was the daughter of John Warren and Sarah Elizabeth Lipscomb Wallace.
She died at her home in Steele on Sunday, January 18.
Mrs. Overturf was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Overturf, in 1955. He was a druggist in Steele from 1910 until his retirement.
Mrs. Overturf, 82, was a long-time member of the Methodist Church.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Helen Juanita Steele of Steele and Mrs. Mildred Edith Cassidy of Coloma, Mich.; two sons, Valle Rayburn Overturf of Hot Springs, Ark., and Major Andrew J. Overturf, Jr., of Honolulu, Hawaii.
She also leaves six grandchildren: Pamela and Michael Overturf; Mrs. Judy Hays and Tom L. Cassidy; Mrs. Morris Taylor and Mrs. Irvin Slate, Jr.; and seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home, 122 East Main Street, Steele, in charge of arrangements.
