He was born January 24, 1947 to George Boone Thompson and Delilah Blanche Brower Thompson. He graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1964 where he was a noted athlete. On April 29, 1967, he was married at the Pomona Christian Church to Brenda Brown and to this union was born two children. Mr. Thompson was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Before his retirement, he was in the car business for forty-one years having been a salesman at Brad Guffey Cherolet Buick GMC. Mr Thompson was an avid horseman, was a life time member of the Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association, spending every year either showing, judging or watching the annual celebration, as well as visiting with old friends. He loved paying cards, enjoyed watching sports, especially Cardinal baseball and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Thompson was of the Christian faith and on April 20, 2015, Richard and Brenda rededicated their faith. He is survived by his wife, two children, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, father in law several nieces and nephews ans special friends. His parents, two brothers, George Alvin Thompson and Robert Wayne Thompson and one brother-in-law, Alvin Heselton, precede him in death. [robertsondrago.com, Aug 26, 2015]
