James Hervey Ballentine (1888 - 1956)
Lillie Mae Mathis Ballentine (1898 - 1969)
The Angel of Death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herby Ballentine about five thirty this evening and took their little son Billy away to the Promised Land. Billy had been seriously ill for several days with tonsilitis and about noon he took a turn for the worse. The doctor was hastily summoned and gave him a treatment that somewhat revived hopes for him, but a little after five o'clock in the evening he had a sinking spell from which he failed to rally.
His father, realizing that death was imminent vainly tried to cause respiration by rolling and rubbing him but to no avail, for God had decided that he needed his little soul in His Kingdom. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, probably late as arrangements will have to be completed in the morning.
We extend to the bereaved ones our whole hearted sympathy and grieve with them in their great loss.
