Military funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. for SFC Home Lee Hillhouse, 36. The Rev. David Hart and the Rev. James F. McCrary conducted the service at First Baptist Church in Steele.
Born July 2, 1942, in Marmaduke, Ark., SFC Hillhouse was the son of James Earnest and Lorene Lucius Hillhouse.
SFC Hillhouse was in military service, stationed in Germany. He was killed April 1, when he was thrown from a jeep in an accident while on military duty. He had been stationed in Germany for five weeks prior to the accident.
SFC Hillhouse leaves his wife, Janet Welch Hillhouse; a daughter, Debbie Hillhouse of Piedmont, Mo.; two sons, Michael, 9, and Todd, four months, of the home in Shattuc, Ill.
He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Lorene Hillhouse of Jonesboro, and three sisters: Frances Brown, Belleville, Ill.; Barbara Tittle, Memphis; and Carolyn Wood, Jonesboro; four brothers: Hoye Hillhouse and Donald Hillhouse of Steele; Louis Hillhouse of Creve Coeur, Mo.; and E.J. Hillhouse of Huntsville, Ala.
Full military services were conducted by a contingent from Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. SFC Ronnie Watson of Dover, AFB, Dela., was the escort.
