John German, well known farmer who had lived here all his life, died suddenly at noon today when he had a heart attack. He was returning from his barn lot, where he had been feeding his stock, when he was stricken.
Members of his family saw him fall to the ground, but he was dead before they reached him. He suffered a heart attack sometime ago, but had apparently recovered and seemed to have been in excellent health.
Mr. German, who was 45 years of age, had been active in the local Masonic Lodge for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Jean, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.S. German, two brothers, J.L. and J.E. German, and one sister, Mrs. T.I. Brooks, all of Steele.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock with interment being in Mr. Zion cemetery.
