Mr. German, a life-long resident of Pemiscot county, was the son of the late James Lawrence and Lillie V. German. He was a member of the Baptist Church, I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 352 and of the Hayti Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Imogene Taylor German, three daughters, by a previous marriage, Mrs. Mary Alice Williams of Memphis, Mrs. Jackie Lee Ingle of Lilbourn and Mrs. Barbara Butler of Clarksville, Tenn. Also two brothers, Jack German of Malden and Paul German of Steele; two sisters, Mrs. Nelle Ledford of Gobler and Mrs. Nadine Funderburk of Long Beach, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Delores Imogene "Jean German" Ray was born on November 11, 1928 in Cooter, Missouri and passed from this life on February 7, 2015 at her home in Hayti, Missouri. She was 86 years, 3 months and 26 days of age.
Jean was the owner and operator of John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti for the last 62 years. Her first husband, John W. German, died August 28, 1962. Her life was working at the funeral home greeting and making everyone feel comfortable and loved at the time of need. She also loved to go out and eat with family and friends.
Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti. She was the daughter of the late Cluster and Etta Harris Taylor.
She leaves the following to cherish her memory, her husband, Martin Ray, her girls, Mary Alice Cunningham of Southaven, Mississippi, Barbara Ann Butler of Ripley Mississippi, Jackie Lee Ingle of Senatobia, Mississippi, Penny Faye Irions of Hayti, Patty Lynn Hinchey of Phoenix, Arizona, cousins, Mary Love Lucy of Memphis, Tennessee and Larry Fowlks of Dyersburg. Tennessee, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Rev. Mike Melton officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti. Pallbearers were Mike Thomas, Doug Wahls, Robert Culler, Ronnie Brown, Brian and Brandon Irions.
