Lois Loree Truitt, 74, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Monday (May 21, 2012) at her home.

The daughter of Ora Samuel and Aldena Fern (Hall) Truitt, she was born May 11, 1938 in Novinger, Missouri.

Lois is survived by four nephews, James David McFarland Jr. of Greentop, MO, Garry Dale McFarland of Novinger, MO, Randy Dean McFarland of Green Castle, MO and Sam Gorden McFarland of Phoenix, AZ and one brother-in-law, James David McFarland Sr. of Novinger, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lola Marie Green and one niece, Debbie Ann McFarland.

Lois was a lifelong resident of Adair County, receiving her education in the Midland Grade School and graduating from the Novinger R-I High School with the Class of 1957. She resided with her parents so that she could care for them and she would in return be taken care of.

Lois loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, country music, gospel music and her dog. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of the Pure Air Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Friday (May 25, 2012) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (May 26, 2012) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lutz Cemetery, south of Novinger.

Pallbearers will be Sam McFarland, Randy McFarland, James McFarland Jr., Garry McFarland, Jason McFarland and Ronnie Ledford.
