Graveside services for Troy James Smith, 73, of West Plains were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.Mr. Smith died at 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at his home. He was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Sycamore, Mo., to Henry "Bunker" and Flo Belcher Smith. On March 25, 1953, he was married at Mountain Home, Ark., to Marjorie Rose Grisham who preceded him in death on July 31, 2004. Mr. Smith was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of the Broadway Furniture Store and liked collecting antiques.He is survived by one son, Jim Smith and wife, Connie, of West Plains; one granddaughter, Whitney Smith of West Plains; one brother, Roy Smith and wife, Marie, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Almedia Partee and Gladys Harris and husband, J.D., of Mountain Home, Ark.; sister-in-law, Jean Lyday of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews; and friends, Lois Keith of West Plains and Terry Keith of Atlanta, Ga.His parents; wife; two sisters, Faye Wake and Loretta Marriman; and three brothers-in-law, Harold Wake, Murel Partee, and Cratis Marriman precede him in death.Burial was held at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
