Randy Franklin Powell, 61, of Steele, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from a battle with cancer in Hayti.
Born June 16, 1951, he and his twin brother, Roger were born in Hayti to the late Clifford Powell and Edith Richardson Powell.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Jerry Powell.
Randy and Leigh Ann were united in marriage on June 2, 1984 in Steele.
He served his country in the United States Air Force. Until his illness, Randy was employed by Fresenius Medical Care in Blytheville, Ark.
He was an avid fisherman, loved to hunt, and loved spending time at Current River and Reelfoot Lake.
Mr. Powell leaves his wife, Leigh Ann Powell, of the home; Two daughters: Leslie Powell and Lindsey Powell, both of Steele; Two brothers: Jackie Powell and Shirley of Caruthersville and Ricky Powell and Tina of Blytheville; One sister-in-law, Francis Powell, of Steele; One granddaughter, Olivia Jayne Green, of Steele; One grandson, Beau Harrison Green of Steele; and A host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Powell were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 27 at the Assembly of God Church in Steele with Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Todd Holman officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
