O.G. Taylor, 82, of Holland, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 19, 1923 in McNairy County, Tenn., he was the son of the late James Taylor and Mary Winfrey Taylor.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Jackie Taylor; two sisters, Ethel Trowbridge and Christine Copeland; and four brothers, Melvin Taylor, Scott Taylor, James Taylor and Edward Taylor.
O.G. was united in marriage to Estell Rollins on Nov. 19, 1946 in Mississippi.
She preceded him in death in 1962.
He later married Bethleen Hays Lamb, whom also preceded him in death in 1972.
He was a painter and carpenter and worked many years with W.C. Martin and Frank Copeland and Lamar Renfro. He was a service station attendant for H&H Service Station in Steele and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mr. Taylor leaves one daughter, Debbie Rone and her husband Rodney, of Poplar Bluff; One granddaughter, Taylor Estell Rone, of Poplar Bluff; and His beloved friend and companion, Mildred Pritchett, of Rives.
Funeral services for Mr. Taylor were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at the Holland Pentecostal Church in Holland with Rev. Mike Richardson officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Clifford Britt, Keith Pritchett, Gary Ozment, David Riddle, Steve Brackin and Eldridge Gray.
