Novella Fern (McCart) Davis, 91, of Willow Springs, Missouri departed this life on November 17, 2015 at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs, Missouri. She was born on December 17, 1923, in Willow Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel Alvin and Jennie Linn (Wonnel) McCart. Novella was a graduate of Willow Springs High School. She was united in marriage to Alvin Willard Davis on September 10, 1942 in Cabool, Missouri. To this union, one son was born, Harold Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Jim” Davis; her parents, Samuel and Jennie Linn McCart; her brothers, Alfred McCart, Earl McCart, and Howard McCart; and her sisters, Opal Whited and Letha Williams. Survivors include her son, Harold Dean Davis of Mountain Grove, MO; granddaughter, Abby Clinton and husband, John, of Willow Springs, MO; great grandsons, Dorion Clinton and Hayden Clinton of Willow Springs, MO; several nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Davis, of Willow Springs, MO. Novella was of the Christian faith and accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young child. She was a long-time employee of the Rawlings Manufacturing Company. Novella’s greatest joy was her two great grandsons. She was an avid gardener, who took great pride in the appearance of her yard and her home. She enjoyed cooking for those who visited her, especially preparing her signature dish of fried chicken. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at Willow Springs City Cemetery with Pastor Doug Brewer officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs.
