Funeral services for Bennett Bailey Goodman, 70, of Steele, were held Wednesday, November 3, at the First Presbyterian Church in Blytheville. Rev. Larry B. Jarvis officiated.
Mr. Goodman was born October 8, 1912, in Memphis, Tennessee, and died November 1, 1982, at the Baptist Hospital-Central in Memphis. He was a cotton broker and had served as elder and deacon in the First Presbyterian Church in Blytheville.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Frances Gillam Goodman of Steele; and one sister, Mrs. Rose Parker of Memphis.
Pallbearers were Sam Black, Walker Milam, Alex Hill, Billy Tomlinson, Eddie David, and Eddie Regenold.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Services for Frances Gilliam Goodman were held at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele on Tuesday, October 8, 1985, at 2:00 p.m. Service was by Rev. William T. Grimstead, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Blytheville.

Mrs. Goodman, the daughter of the late Amos L. and Effie Crawford Gilliam, was born October 16, 1914 at Langdon, Kansas and died October 6, 1985 at the hospital in Blytheville. She was 70. She was married to Bennett Bailey Goodman, who preceded her in death.

The Goodman home is on North Walnut Street in Steele but Mrs. Goodman was also a resident at River Oaks Nursing Home. She had been there just over three years.

She leaves one great niece, Cortney Gilliam of Oklahoma City, and other relatives and friends.

A brother preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were W.T. Tomlinson, Barry Riddick, Steve Hitchens, David Haggard, Clyde Southern and Hobert Wells, Jr.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home.
