William A. "Pinky" Ashcraft, 75, died April 19, 1999, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti. He was born April 24, 1920, at Perry County, Ark., the son of the late Lee Ashcraft and Lavada Fitch Ashcraft.
Pinky was a retired truck driver, who lived most of his life in Cooter.
Survivors include three brothers, T.E. "Bud" Ashcraft and Don Ashcraft of Cooter, and Otha Lee Ashcraft of Canton, Texas; one sister, Irma Lee Hopgood of Cameron; four nephews, six nieces and other relatives and lots of friends.
Services were held Thursday, April 22, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Jerry McClure, Ralph Heathcock, Billy Tuberville, Bo Tuberville, Sam Smith, and Jimmy Hopgood. Honorary pallbearer was Richard Burdine.
