Mrs. Frankie Ruth Ashcraft, 78, of Cooter, died April 13, 1989 at Mississippi County Hospital in Blytheville. Born Sept. 22, 1910 at Savannah, Tenn., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon C. Spencer. She was a housewife and reported the Cooter news in The Democrat-Argus and The Steele Enterprise. She also formerly operated a Cooter restaurant.
She is survived by her husband, Thurman "Bud" Ashcraft of Cooter; one daughter, Mrs. Maureen Bryant, Kingsport, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Rubye Brown of Cape Girardeau;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One brother, David Spencer, preceded her in death.
Services were April 16, 1989 at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, the Rev. David Powell officiating, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery, Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Herald Dennis, Ralph and Jerry McClure, Marvin Childers, Jerry Scott, and J.W. Neil.
