Vickie Louann Tipton, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away Friday evening, January 12, 2018, while at her home due to natural causes. Born December 22, 1961 to Carl Williams and Mary Lou (Huddleston) James, she was 56 years old.
Vickie grew up in Rover, MO and attended the local schools. As a young child she accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Rover Baptist Church. When her family moved to Willow Springs, she attended high school and graduated with the class of 1980. She then attended Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1984 with her diploma in nursing. Vickie established her adult life in Memphis, TN where she raised her two sons, Taylor and Carter. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Memphis. Following a robust nursing career she then returned to school at Southern Illinois University where she obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration and transitioned into a successful pharmaceutical career for 15 years. In her later years she returned to Willow Springs and was wed to Kent Tipton and returned to work as a private duty nurse. She had many enjoyments in life. She loved cooking, playing golf, and caring for her flower garden; however, she especially loved just spending time with her sons and her husband. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Vickie is preceded in death by her brother, Gilly Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Kent; two sons, Taylor Capocaccia and Carter Capocaccia, both of Memphis, TN; her father, Carl Williams of Alton, MO; her mother, Mary Lou James and her husband, Eugene of West Plains, and a brother, Larry Williams and his wife, Alicia, of Cabot, AR. Further surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Vickie will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs at 11:00 am with Dr. David Cox officiating . Visitation will be held one hour prior to services from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vickie's name to Trinity Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at Willow Funeral home.
