Eva "Louise" Cavener, age 70, of Springfield, Missouri was the 5th child of Earl and Lenna (Quade) Fitchpatrick.
She grew up in Golden City and graduated from Golden City High School in 1955. On December 22, 1956 Louise married Edward Dale Cavener at the First Baptist Church in Lamar, Missouri. Dale and Louise celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in December, 2006 and were surrounded with their family and many friends for the joyous occasion. Dale preceded Louise in death last July.
Louise was employed with Dayco as a quality assurance inspector. After 31 years of service she retired August, 1996. Louise's pride and joy was her family. Between her children and grandchildren she attended hundreds and hundreds of sporting events and school programs, plus music and dance recitals. "If there was anything that was important to one of her family members, you could always count on her being there to share it with you." Another passion was the Grand Oak Mission Center where she started volunteering shortly after she retired. As long as her health permitted her to work at the mission she assisted wherever she was needed.
Louise is survived by four daughters, all of Springfield: Marsha Burke and her husband Brady; Debbie Bellamy and her husband David; Lori Twitty; and Melissa Waters and her husband Robert. She is also survived by her two sons: Steve Cavener and his wife Kim, Marshfield, MO and Greg Cavener and his wife Dana, Nevada, MO. S
he is also survived by her 19 wonderful grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will miss their loving "Granny". Surviving siblings and spouses are: Carroll & Louella Fitchpatrick, Topeka, KS; Thelma Shafer, Jerome, ID; Wanda Rector, Nevada, MO; Clifford and Nita Fitchpatrick, Benjamin and Elene Fitchpatrick, and brother-in-law Mel Robertson, all of Jasper, MO; and Delores and Clarence Whitehead, Neosho, MO. She also leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law whom she loved as dearly as her brothers and sisters.
Preceding Louise in death, in addition to her husband Dale, were her parents and one sister, Harriet Robertson.
Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Springfield, with Reverend Charles Hufft officiating. Graveside services followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Crane, MO.
