Ernest Moore Dies at Funston
Ernest Moore, a young man living east of Adair, died at Camp Funston, Kan., Saturday afternoon from an attack of erysipelas. Ernest was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Moore and he and brother Charles were drafted in August and have been at Camp Funston since. He was about 25 years old, and had seven brothers and sisters.
About a week ago his parents were notified of his illness and went to Camp Funston, accompanied by Dr. O'Conner of Baring. The young man rallied for a day or two, then became worse and died Saturday.
Emmett Moore, an uncle of Ernest, went to Kansas City Monday to meet the funeral party. The funeral was from the Catholic church at Adair, Wednesday, followed by burial in the Adair cemetery.
Ernest was in excellent health when he went to the camp, and his death will be somewhat of a shock to his friends.
