Paul E. Strong, 71, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Cooter, died June 10, 1988 at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center. Born Nov. 3, 1916 in Cooter, he was the son of Frank and Lillie Wilson Strong. He was a retired aircraft inspector. He attended Word of Life Fellowship in Cape and was a member of Steele Oddfellows Lodge and the Masonic Lodge of Cape Girardeau.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Byrn Strong of Cape Girardeau; One son, Paul Byrn Strong of Barnhart, Mo.; One daughter-in-law, Mrs. June McGee Strong of Barnhart; Two grandsons, Paul Byrn Strong Jr. and Douglas Byrn Strong, both of Barnhart; One foster daughter, Sue McGee of Cape Girardeau; One sister, Mrs. Lettie Joiner of Cape Girardeau; And a half sister, Mrs. Vernie Stow of Hayti;
Services were Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Earl Cox officiating, with burial in Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter. Oddfellows performed a service at graveside.
Pallbearers were Harold Dunn, Charles Barger, Billy Stow, Eddie McGee, Charles Wisemand and Allen Rice.

Mrs. Leona Agnes Strong, 76, died Tuesday, January 9, 1996, at Festus Nursing Center, Festus, Mo.
Born Monday, October 20, 1919, in Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lula Douglas Byrn.
Mrs. Strong also was preceded in death by three brothers.
She was united in marriage with Paul E. Strong, who preceded her in death.
A Pentecostal and member of the Word of Life Fellowship in Cape Girardeau, Mo., she was a retired seamstress.
Mrs. Strong leaves a son, Mr. Paul B. Strong, of Barnhart, Mo.; One daughter-in-law, Mrs. June Strong, of Barnhart; A sister, Mrs. Emma Pennington, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and Two grandsons: Mr. Paul B. Strong Jr. and Mr. Douglas Strong, both of Barnhart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Strong were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13 1996, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, Mo. with Rev. Don Henson officiating.
Burial was at Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter, Mo., with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Jack McGee, Tommy McGee, Jimmy McGee, David McGee, Roger McGee, and Edward McGee.
