Hilda Ramah James, 83, of the Knox County Residential Care Facility, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning (June 18, 1992) at the Grin-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.

The daughter of William Barnhart and Ruby Maude Fletcher Christman, she was born May 14, 1909 in Adair County. On May 2, 1925 in Edina, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Francis C. James who preceded her in death on February 20, 1957. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Donald James in 1908 and Charles James in 1988; three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Gail James of Baring, Missouri, five grandchildren, Mrs. Bill (Kathy) Hall of Hurdland, Missouri, Randy James of Brashear, Missouri, Leon James of Hurdland, Missouri, Mrs. Max (Gena) Mayer of Hurdland, Missouri and Mrs. Mark (Genel) Parrish of Baring, Missouri and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. James received her education in the Sperry and Wilmathsville communities. She was a life-long resident of Adair County and was employed as a cook for several local restaurants until retiring in the 1970's.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Brashear, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon (June 20, 1992) at the Travis Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri. The Reverend Archie Cooper will conduct the service. Music will be provided by Mildred Cooper, organist, and Harold Moyer will be singing, "In The Garden" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow." Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be: Randy James, Chris James, Brad Hall, Bill Hall, Mark Parrish, Max Mayer and Leon James.

Visitation is in progress at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home, 1008 Potter Avenue, Kirksville, Missouri, 665-1033.

The family will receive friends from seven to nine o'clock this evening in the funeral home chapel.
