Funeral service was held January 24 in the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele for Dennis M. Lawler, known to his many friends as "Dink." He was 67. The service was conductd by Rev. Harold Moore and the Rev. Joe Smith.
Mr. Lawler was born January 31, 1912, in Madison County, Tenn., and died January 22, 1980, at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville. He was a well-known farmer and landowner near Cooter.
He leaves his wife, Ramell Lawler of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Maude VanDyke of Steele; Mrs. Anna Talkington and Mrs. Ella Talkington - both of Lake Village, Ark.; and Mrs. Ruby Nell Walker of Steele; two brothers, Ed and Gayland preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were O.D. Bond, Shon Pollard, Ray Pugh, Richard Copeland, Ted Fisher, and Carl Clifton.
Burial was in Number Eight Cemetery with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ramell Lawler, 87, of the Number Eight Community, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at the Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Nov. 12, 1916 in Lexington, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Evans and Donie Free Anderson Evans.
She was also preceded in death by one son, who died at birth, and eight brothers and sisters, Earl Evans, Elmer Evans, Myrtle Evans, Tommie Evans, Verna Wilkins, Henry Evans, Eunice jenkins and Geraldine Evans.
Ramell was united in marriage to Dennis M. "Dink" Lawler on Oct. 5, 1934, in Caruthersville, Mo. He preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Cooter High School, was a homemaker and a member of the Number Eight Cemetery Club and the Tyler Church of God, where she was a secretary for 35 years.
Mrs. Lawler leaves twenty-eight nieces and nephews: Two sisters-in-law; Ella Marie Talkington and Ruby Nell Walker, both of Lake Village, Ark.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lawler were held at 2:00 p.m. thursday, June 17, 2004 at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home Chap[el in Steele, with the Rev. Jerry Chaney officiating.
Burial was at the Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter with Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
