Billy Wayne Williams, 76, of Steele, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at his home.
He was born Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1927 in Fulton, Mo., to the late E.J. Williams and Myrtle Prestage Williams.
In October 1947 he was united in marriage to Velda McClanahan in Piggott, Ark.
Preceding him in death wre his parents, two sisters, Lorena Vaughn on Oct. 26, 2003, Maydoyle Douglas and her husband, Winfred, and one brother Allen Williams and his wife, Velda, who all died in March 1948 in a car accident in Michigan.
Williams served the community as a grocery store owner for many years, and was a faithful member of Nunnery Chapel General Baptist Church.
He leaves two daughters, Sandra Hahs Woodward of Memphis, and husband Frank.
Pallbearers were Verlon Barnard, Jerry Green, Gary Sanders, Jackie Horton, Glenn Griffin and Gary Wayne Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were R.E. Hewlett, Carl Johnson, Bill Ricketts, Richard Burdine, Maurice Massey, Pete Driskill, Jerry Howell, and Glen Flood.
The Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of the services.
