Graveside services for Carl Williams were conducted Saturday, August 9, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Rev. James McCrary officiated.
Mr. Williams, a former Steele resident, died August 3 at Holiday, Fla. He was born July 13, 1899 in Tennessee.
He leaves his widow, Lora Maxwell Williams.
Interment was in the Sam F. Hamra Memorial Garden at Mt. Zion with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lora Vee Williams 89, of Glenwood, Ark., formerly of Steele, died Jan. 17, 1995 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. She was the daughter of Jessie Newton and Oleana Matlock Maxwell and a Methodist.
She is survived by four nieces, Billie Clark of Artesia, N.M., Laverne Bizzell of Hobbs, N.M., Frances Miller of Clearfield, Utah, and Kathleen Collins of Northville, Mich.; Two nephews, Ralph Maxwell of Carlsbad, N.M., and Bob Webb of New Port Richey, Fla.; And numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was the widow of Carl Williams and was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Brooksie and Truman Maxwell.
Services were Jan. 21 at John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Tom Zych officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
