Funeral services were held January 8, 1966 for Edgar James Williams of Lees Summitt, Mo.

Mr. Williams was born in Fulton, Miss., December 15, 1897. He died here January 6.

Services were at the Assembly of God Church in Steele, Rev. Jerald Ogg officiating, assisted by Rev. Roy Hamlett.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, German Funeral Home in charge.

Pall bearers were Harold Rhoades, Arthur Hester, Bynum Hester, Clyan Larue, Albert King, and J.M. Ridge.

Mr. Williams leaves his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Williams, and four sons: Aaron Williams and Preston Williams of Lees Summitt; Billy Williams of Steele, and Willie Williams of Raytown, Mo. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Etoyle Howell of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Lorena Vaughn of Raytown. There are 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Myrtle Williams, 87, of Steele, died Sept. 29, 1988 at Kansas City. Born Jan. 27, 1901, she was the daughter of John and Caledonia Fikes Prestage. She was the widow of James Edgar Williams and was also preceded in death by three children.
She is survived by four sons, Aaron, Willie and Preston Williams, all of Kansas City, and Billy Williams of Steele; Two daughters, Mrs. Lorena Vaughn of Kansas City and Etoyle Howell of Rockford, Ill.; Two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Hardin of Fulton, Miss., and Mrs. Lillian Wigginton of Birmingham; Nineteen grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Sherel Jetton officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry W. Douglas, Steven Mark Williams, Vincent A. Como, James Dennis Williams, Robert C. Howell and Jerry Howell.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Snapp, Paul Hacker, Damon Scruggs, David Wallace, Verlon Barnard, Darrell Douglas, Ronald Ashlock and Frank Schilly.
