Services for Lute Williams, 94, of Steele, who died May 13th at River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele, were held May 15th at 2 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with the Reverand Pete Soens officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 7th, 1882 in Nevada, Mo., the son of the late A.C. and Mary E. Moore Williams. He married Addie Cole in Okmulgee, Okla., Jan. 14, 1908. She preceded him in death April 26th, 1973.
Survivors include one son, Verner Williams of Blytheville, Ark.; five daughters, Mrs. Viola George of Oroville, Calif., Mrs. Jonnie Wingfield of Campbell, Mrs. Lucille Bishop of Nampa, Idaho, Mrs. Susie German of Steele, and Mrs. Maxine Moore of Houston, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Pallberarers were Jim George, Danny Wingfield, James Cunningham, Sherman Ingle, Paul German, and Wilbun Clark.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Addie Cole Williams, wife of Lute Williams. Services were held at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele and were conducted by the Rev. A. A. Noggle and the Rev. James F. McCrary.

Born October 29, 1888, at Wildersville, Tenn., she died April 26, 1973 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital at Hayti at the age of 84.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cole. Mrs. Williams was married at Okmulgee, Okla., in the Indian Council House when Oklahoma was still Indian Territory, on January 14, 1908. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last January.

Mrs. Williams leaves her husband, Lute Williams of Steele; one son, Verner Williams of Blytheville; five daughters, Mrs. Tom George, Oroville, Calif., Mrs. Hauzie Wingfield, Campbell, Mo., Mrs. Joe Bishop, San Jose, Calif., Susie German, Steele; and Mrs. Ray Moore, Whittier, Calif.; one sister, Ida Whitecotton, Okmulgee, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Charles Ferrell, Clarence Poteet, Reginald Watkins, Harbert Hudgens, Herbert Ketchum, and Gene Wingfield.
