MRS. B.B. SMITH PASSES AWAY AT HOME NEAR SOLO
Mary Easter Harris was born November 9, 1862, in Franklin county, Illinois; died at her home near Solo, Mo., September 30, 1934, making her age at the time of death 72 years, 10 months and 21 days.
On October 18, 1883, she was married to B.B. Smith. To this union nine children were born; three died in infancy and Charley died at the age of 18 years. The others, James Arlie Smith of Solo, Mo., Ollie Norris, of Centralia, Wash., Jud Smith, Elk Creek, Jesse Smith, Conrad, Iowa, Edgar Smith of Solo, together with the heart-broken husband, live to mourn her going.
She came with her family to Texas county in 1894 and lived here the remainder of her life.
At an early age she was converted and joined the Methodist church, later changing her membership to the Baptist church. She lived a sweet, consistent christian life and to know her was to love her.
Besides her grief-stricken family, she leaves 18 grandchildren and a host of friends, for every one was Mrs. Smith's friend.
There is another sad, broken home. May the members of that home be re-united with wife and mother in that home beyond the skies.
Funeral services at Steely's Chapel conducted by Rev. W.F. Ice. Burial in the cemetery at that place by the side of her children.
