Ona Fay Warren Mathis, 95, of Steele, died Friday, January 11, 2008 at her home.
Born April 3, 1912 in Thaxton, Pontotoc County, Miss., she was the daughter of the late William Jefferson and Ulela Gertrude Sneed Warren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Wayne Mathis and Larry Mathis and one daughter, Peggy Jackson.
She was a homemaker.
Ona was united in marriage to Gerald M. Mathis on March 3, 1928 in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mathis leaves three children: Landon E. Mathis and Brenda Mathis, both of Steele and Regina Kay Rowe of Waller, Texas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mathis were held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 14, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Bishop Jason Miller officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
