Once again the Angel of Death has entered into our little city, and called from our midst, Randolph Mathis, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Mathis. He had just reached the age of 18. He being so much pleasure to his parents, we cannot understand why our young folks are taken from us, but God always knows best.
Randolph had been in poor health all the past summer. He accompanied by his mother, spent several weeks in Hot Springs about two weeks ago, then they returned home, he being much improved. Last Monday he took influenza, after which he lived on a short time. Everything was done for him that could be done.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Cemetery by Bro. J.W. Wallace. His casket was loaded with beautiful roses and chrysanthemums presented by his many friends.
Besides his father, mother and two brothers, he leaves a host of friends to mourn his death.
