Grace Peggy Sigman passed away at Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar, Missouri on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 78. Born in Texas County, Missouri, she was the daughter of James Claude Darter and Ethel Pearl (Orr) Darter.
She married Vernon L. Sigman of Cabool in 1956 and they shared 57 years of marriage during which they raised their family and enjoyed their grandchildren. Peggy worked as an elementary school librarian in the Cabool School District for many years. She was an active member of Maness Memorial Baptist Church and involved in scouting, teaching vacation bible school, and Sunday school. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and nature. Peggy was a passionate quilter and doll maker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by five sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her husband, Vernon L. Sigman and her sister, Mary Carr, both of Cabool, Missouri. She is also survived by two sons: Scott Sigman and wife, Vicki of Bolivar, Missouri and Mike Sigman and wife, Jean of Oviedo, Florida; one daughter: Sally Palmer and husband, Marty of Hatboro, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Vernon Leroy Sigman, age 88, passed away Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Kabul

Simmons, Missouri to Carl Ray and Goldie Easter (Odle) Sigman.
Vernon grew up in the Simmons, Elk Creek community where he spent many hours
swimming and fishing in the Piney River. In 1945 he went to work at the Producers Creamery
where he worked for 43 years, which included 5 years of service in the United States Army
from 1948 to 1953. Many of the people he worked with remained life-long friends of whom he
spoke fondly.
He married Grace Peggy Darter on September 21, 1956. They were married 57 years until
Peggy’s death in 2013. Together they enjoyed many activities but especially gardening and
fishing. After his retirement in 1992, they spent many enjoyable years camping and fishing on Norfork Lake in Arkansas. To this union was born three children—Scott, Michael, and Sally
Ann.
